Digital Video - Basic Editing
Types of cuts
- Straight cut or cut - Abrupt cut from one shot to next
- L cut or split edit - Video cuts to next shot before the audio, or vice versa
- Graphic match - Matching similarly composed shots
- Match or motion match - Matches motion or focus from one shot to the next, in order to disguise transition
- Jump - Cutting ahead in same shot to show passage of time
- Parallel edit - Cutting back and forth between two scenes repitively
